wintry evening
Feb. 13th, 2007 08:37 pmOne of the things that I really like about having snow outside is that it never really gets dark. When I look out the window, everything's pale and shining. The road reflects the sky, which is a sort of luminous grey; the cars are all kind of muted by a light coating of ice. It's really pretty. I've spent the entire evening curled up on the couch in a heap of pillows, a blanket over my legs, a mug of hot chocolate near to hand.
I'd enjoy it all much more if I didn't need to worry about driving to work tomorrow. It's snowing up north where I work, but down here it's all freezing rain. I can hear it clattering intermittently on the snow outside.
At least I have Iron Chef America to entertain me. "Chef Bowles. You are wearing your lucky red socks. But will they droop... in the heat of Kitchen Stadium?"
