snowy xmas eve

It snowed all day yesterday too but that was dry snow, powder falling, light and easy to shovel. I woke this morning to real snow, big wet chunks that showed up white against the brown trees. Absolutely gorgeous.

Christmas ham for dinner tonight; tomorrow we fly out to Vancouver to spend time with my family. Flights have been dicey due to weather conditions both at O'Hare and up in the Pacific Northwest; the Chicagoans can deal but the people up in Vancouver are used to balmier weather. Wish us luck!
