I'm not participating in Shutdown Day
Apr. 17th, 2008 10:18 am...because really, it's cheating, since on Shutdown Day, we will be attending my cousin's wedding. In Ottawa.
Besides, the point of the exercise is to shut down computers that are constantly on, which would apply to my work computer rather than my home computer... and my work computer is supposed to stay on in the event that they manage to push out server upgrades over the weekend. Oh well.
I don't spend a whole lot of weekend time on the computer anyway. Given the option, I'd rather spend time at home reading a book, hanging out with friends, or cooking something time-consuming in the kitchen.
A real test of self-control would be to see if we could keep the TV off all weekend (assuming we were at home). The weekend tends to be when K and I clean out all the stuff that accumulates on the TiVo during the week.
