a girly post, sort of
Jul. 21st, 2008 12:05 pmI had a lovely bridal shower. I was kind of dreading it, actually, as I don't really go in for the games of friendly embarrassment that seem to be the norm with such showers, but my girls were awesome and understanding and just put out tea and snacks, and let people sit around and talk. People came from miles around and I felt very loved, and it's left me with a wonderfully warm feeling. My girls conspired with K to make it a surprise for me, which was really sweet.
All the tea went home with me, though, so when we finally get moved in, I shall have to have a tea party. I shall have to have several tea parties. I think I have enough tea for years to come.
On a different note, I recommend this fantastic blog entry from the "No Reservations" producer, dealing with the complications of filming an episode in Saudi Arabia. It's a really neat take from a Western woman on wearing the abbaya, and the perspective shift that comes with it.
