Fall makes me so happy. I complain a lot about the cold, but really I love fall weather. I love crunching through dry leaves. I like hats and scarves, long coats and big thick sweaters. I like making hot chocolate and mulling cider and baking things without worrying that the oven will overheat the house. We've started singing the holiday music for Camerata and that's fun too, full of peace and love and exuberant Latin.

We got turnips, fractal cauliflower, and Savoy cabbage from the CSA this week. We're also getting a massive onslaught of apples and pears. K made a lovely beef stew with potatoes and carrots in our new Dutch oven, and it's so good that I haven't minded having it for dinner every night after. We'll probably do a chicken roast this weekend, with sage and thyme and rosemary. Yay, fall.

(My exuberance may or may not be related to the fact that I took my midterm on Tuesday, and it feels as if a giant weight has been lifted from my back. Hopefully I'll finish the bulk of my homework before the weekend.)
