gotta love the three-day work week

The drive to work was beautiful today. I'm really lucky in that my drive takes me into peaceful, open country; I head west away from the city, and the sun at my back highlights trees and fields as I pass by. The sky this morning was a gorgeous combination of peach-gray-blue, reflecting off the road and complementing the red leaves and brown branches.

The iPod was in a mood to serve up Grey Eye Glances, mostly off the Eventide album, which fit the surroundings perfectly. I don't have synaesthetic tendencies usually but Eventide has a wonderful lush sound, evoking beiges and pale lavenders in my head.

Anyway, yes. Wondrous good mood going into work today; I didn't even mind getting stuck behind the large trucks crawling down the two-lane road. Probably has something to do with the four-day weekend upcoming, and the prospect of laziness and overeating. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. :)
