Backstory: I don't like fax machines and would rather avoid them at all costs.
Round 1: FIGHT!
Having earned a passing grade, I wanted my tuition reimbursed. At the grade submission website, I was given a choice of either uploading a file or faxing my grade report; I chose to upload a file. At the conclusion of the process, I got an email that said, "In order to complete the approval process please fax the following documentation to XXX-XXX-XXXX." It listed the documentation I had uploaded.
I submitted a help desk ticket asking if upload was sufficient or if a fax was still required, and if it wasn't sufficient, why they bothered offering the option at all.
They replied, "In order to close out a disbursement the 'Submit Grade Report and Receipts' process must be completed. Once you have completed the online portion of the process you will then print the fax coversheet and submit all supporting documentation via fax. Help desk ticket closed."
Round 2: FIGHT?
Being stubborn, and subject to my aforementioned dislike for fax machines, I reopened the help desk ticket and told them that I'd already uploaded everything they wanted, I didn't see the point of submitting redundant information, and if it's imperative that documentation be faxed, why offer the file upload option at all?
They clearly didn't like my answer, and came back with: "Actually we see you have two classes on your docket, so you need to submit documentation for both of those. Please provide detailed receipts and grade reports for each class. Help desk ticket closed."
Still no answer for upload vs. fax. And now they were charging me for a second class.
Round 3: Fight...
I reopened the ticket again, informing them that the second class was the one I was signing up for this coming semester; I would not be able to submit grade information for it, as I had not yet taken it. I had submitted grade information for the class I had already taken. What did they want from me?
Answer: "You need to submit the grade submission request for the class you have completed. Also include documentation. Help desk ticket closed."
Round 4: Last gasp.
I reopened the ticket, asking simply: Should these documents be faxed, or could they be attached as files?
Answer: "You need to submit your grade submission request for the class you have completed. Please submit supporting documents: grade report and detailed receipt. Grade reports must be submitted within a 60-day interval of class completion or reimbursement may be denied. Help desk ticket closed."
I think I've been sufficiently KO'd. Off to wrestle with the fax machine.
