Lessons learned from the past few days:
- do not leave crocheting of presents until the very last few days, especially when you're staying in the house of people for whom you're trying to furtively crochet. Also watch out for carpal tunnel twinges.
- even if you had tasty curry-fried crab several hours ago, you will still cause stinging pain to your eyeball when you try to take out your contact lens. Merely rinsing the hands under running water will not remove the deeply-ingrained curry bits; actual soap is required. Ow ow ow omg my eye ow ow ow, etc.
- man, six-year-old cousins are every bit as exhausting as when they were five, only with vastly expanded vocabulary and less tolerance for stalling.

takaal: this video, a brilliant and hilarious a capella treatment of "12 Days of Christmas." Gorgeous harmony, too.
And now to bed, since it's midnight local time. (I adjust to West Coast time really easily!)
